FAITH WRITES
ANGELS AMONG US
                           by I. Faith

Do you believe in Angels?  I do.  I believe they are the perfect embodiment of God's love in the flesh.

If you read my testimony you know I had a kidney transplant on October 20, 2006.  My hospital stay was only five days and I then I was free to go home and recover.  However, in late November, right after Thanksgiving, I developed a viral infection  and was re-hospitalized.  I had a fever of 101 degrees, low white blood count and felt weak and drained.  The doctors ran various tests in an attempt to identify the type of virus I had and did not immediately treat it for fear that they would only be masking the symptoms.  This approach left me feeling weaker and weaker as each day passed.

After being in the hospital for almost a week, I was feeling at my absolute lowest point - physically, mentally and spiritualy.  One afternoon I tried to get up to take a walk and I could not lift myself out of bed.  I was alarmed and afraid.  I wondered what was happening to me.  Earlier that same morning I had taken a walk in the corridor, albiet on wobbly legs.  But, at this point I couldn't even manage to sit up and swing my legs over the side of the bed.  I rang for the nurse and she arrived to find me distressed and curled up in a fetal position.  She administered a pain killer and advised that I just try to rest for awhile.

A few moments later a woman entered the room and said "I'm Nancy*, I'm from the Chaplain's Office." She paused and added, "You don't look like you are feeling very well."

"No, I'm not."  I replied.

"Would you like me to pray for you or do you want to be lfet alone?"

I whole heartedly believe in the power of prayer and responded, "Yes, please pray for me."

Nancy prayed over me and then stayed a few moments to tell me about her role in the Chaplain's office.  She also saw that I had my Bible and
Daily Word and we discussed both publications.

"How did you happen to come to my room?", I asked.

"I stopped by the nurses station and asked if there was anyone on the floor that might want a vist from the the Chaplain's office.  Your nurse said that you were not feeling well and might be open to a visit from me."

Soon after Nancy left I realized that I felt better.  Not only did I feel better, but I was able to get up!  PRAISE GOD!  By the next day I was once again able to take a walk down the corrider.

I know that Nancy's prayers worked for me.  I know that it was no coincidence that she arrived just when I needed a physical and spiritual uplifting the most.  I know that God sends Angels to earth to show us his mercy and grace.  I know I was visted by an angel that day.  Angels appear in all colors, shapes and sizes, often appearing when we least expect them but always right on time when we need them the most.  Open your eyes and heart and give thanks to the angels that have blessed you and continue to watch over you every day.
